A complete remote control system for Amateur radio - NEW MODEL After the first 200 systems are shipped its now time for the next generation of the Remoterig system. We have now released a new hardware called RRC-1258MkII. This time the hardware is developed speciallly for remote control of hamradio stations which makes it easier for us to produce without sub-boards an cables soldered by hand. The most important improvement for the user is that it's much simpler to make the cables to the radio stations and in many cases it possible to use standard "off the shelf" cables. The housing is also new and custom made to make it more simple to open and reconfiguring. Another news is that there are straps inside which makes it simple to configure the system for different radios. The mods. for the CW-keyer are already there. We only need to have one model in stock for all radios. The firmware will be the same both for the new MkII and the first version. We will continue to keep the firmwares together so news will be available to both versions at the same time, so you who have already bought the first version, don't worry the development of will continue on both. Down below follows a list of the main news. RRC-1258 is a product developed for remote control of amateur radio stations. From the beginning it was intended to be used with Icom IC-706 and later Kenwood TS-480 and TS-2000 where the control panel could be separated from the radio. Later on support for more traditional remote control has been implemented. RRC-1258 is used in pairs with one unit connected to the Radio and the other to the control panel or control equipment (e.g. a PC running a rig control program). All of the above solutions has in common that no PC is needed at the radio site and the audio and data signalling is passing between the RRC-1258 units without any involvement of the PC. Support is now implemented for ICOM, YAESU, KENWOOD and Elecraft and some other brands using the same protocol structure. Using the RRC-1258 system all that is required is for you to take the head unit of say your IC-706 or TS-480 together with one half of the RRC-1258, plug into a LAN connection connected to the web and within seconds you are "ON AIR" as if you were sitting in your shack at home.
